What a start in the new year! Oh, and happy new year to you all!! :)

Since we've been very(very!) busy in the last days of 2014 with planning, renovating and moving into our new place I haven't gotten the chance to take any pictures before the end of the year. So to turn things around a little bit, I headed down south to Hamelin Bay on the evening of Januray 1st to enjoy and photograph the first sunset of the year(I could have done the first sunrise but that normally involves getting up and unreasonable hours ;) )

 With all  the trouble my computer and the hard drives are giving me a the moment, I find it hard to dedicate time to go out and shoot. Just yesterday, while running a backup, my PC crashed repeatedly, until I found out that it was the backup software, of all things, that caused the issues...

The Fremantle Power Station - In Black And White

Okay okay I can already hear an outcry from all you color lovers out there - but bear with me!

I have made two separate posts for the Fremantle Power Station: One in black and white and one in color. I simply liked both looks(albeit the B/W a little more) and wanted to share both versions with you.

For now, let's just enjoy the sheer might of this abandoned and, as some say, haunted temple of steel, concrete and broken glass in the raw beauty that is black and white...

Righto, here we are with our second edition of the Fremantle Power Station.

The colored version of the images brings justice to all the wall art inside the ruins and also shows a sense of decay that is happening in this building which is empty since 1985 - the year I was born!

Well, well, well! I wasn't actually planning to photograph Fremantle last night...
But we finished the Fremantle Power Station Earlier than expected, so I used the extra time to explore the local turf and take a few shots.

Last night I felt the urge to go out and do some little exploring so I grabbed my gear(well, most of it!) and hit the road. I knew that John Forrest National Park borders on our suburbs so it should be pretty easy to find a track that leads into the NP...

Feature in the Australian Traveller Magazine!

I am very proud and pleased to announce that the Australian Traveler magazine has chosen to publish my photograph "Memories of Perth" in their previous edition (Issue 056) and they even dedicated a double page to my shot! I'm absolutely blown away and very grateful for this reward! Today my issue arrived in the mail and it's a strange (but very awesome!) feeling to see your own shot featured in a magazine!

The Swan Bell Tower, Perth WA

Okay, this post isn't exactly 100% exclusively about the Bell Tower, there's also a few bits and pieces from city-side Perth. But you guys get the idea, right?!

If you've never been to the Bell Tower, you should definitely put it on your Perth-Bucket-List!
It offers great view of the City, Kings Park and the Swan River! Although some, including me, might find the entry fee of $14 a little steep...
