Okay okay, I'm not gonna lie about it... I'm no professional sports photographer! Those of you who have been following my work will know that people, and sports for that matter, are rarely the main subjects of my photography... Nonetheless, when there's a world championship in your town, you as a photographer go out and shoot it! Period. :)

Leeuwin Lighthouse Sunset And The Galaxy

What a stunning night! I just got home from one E.P.I.C. photographic outing with my mate Mark from Perth. We first met up to shoot the sunset at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta and got some sweet-as silky smooth water shots, then we took a little break for a few hours (watched the A-Team movie - oh yeah!) and then headed back out in the middle of the night to capture the amazing southern night sky in it's full glory!

The Northcliffe bushfires have covered the area in smoke all day long, but the real spectacle began about one hour before sunset when the whole sky turned orange and the sun itself turned into a fierce red ball of fire. Simply amazing!

So I spontaneously grabbed all my gear and headed to Gracetown for a few shots... smile emot

Since we've been very(very!) busy in the last days of 2014 with planning, renovating and moving into our new place I haven't gotten the chance to take any pictures before the end of the year. So to turn things around a little bit, I headed down south to Hamelin Bay on the evening of Januray 1st to enjoy and photograph the first sunset of the year(I could have done the first sunrise but that normally involves getting up and unreasonable hours ;) )

And I particularly love Perth, because - despite what a lot of people say about Perth being a smallish and boring City -there's loads of stuff to see and do, if you do your homework and search a little bit online! There are plenty of interesting, and mostly less traveled places within 60-90 minutes from the CBD.

Hidden Gems - Claisebrook Cove

It's this time of the week again, and I finally found the time to catch up and process all my recent images... 

Last Wednesday I spontaneously decided to head down to the Claisebrook Cove and take a few shots. The weather was promising during the day as the sky was filled with "Super Mario" Clouds - really quite amazing! Unfortunately though, the westerly winds ruined my hopes of a cloud-filled sky for sunset and just about 30 minutes before the sun was due to set, the sky was as empty as a North Korean motorway ... 

Bummer!
