Perth CBD as seen from the north shore of Lake Monger |
I've been meaning to photograph Lake Monger for a long time now. In fact for almost two years! Last Wednesday I had a day off and decided to use this chance to check out the lake and it's stunning vistas on Perth CBD with my good mate Mark...

Mark and the setting up of our equipment. The camera to the right was set up to capture a time-lapse sequence. |

The north shore of Lake Monger. I liked how the trees curved toward the lake and how they helped create leading lines. |

The say "don't approach a scene, set up and shoot! Instead, walk around, try different angles and compositions and experiment." I have to admit in this case we literally set up and shot the scene right away. I think the composition is pretty good from here as it's the only spot to capture the city and the jetty in one frame. |

Perth in Black and White, note the dark grey 'blur' above the trees on the left hand side(also on the following images...). I didn't notice that while shooting but as it turns out these are swarming mosquitoes. |

Perth CBD at night |
As soon as the sun had set, the mosquitoes came out and became rather aggressive. It's incredible how many of those little bastards there are and how big they are too...
