Whilst on a bout journey through northern Laos in August 2011, this boy and his father joined our group.

It appeared that he was on the way to school for the week, which lay another 50 odd kilometers down the river.
Everytime I look at this picture I'm wondering "What was he thinking of?"

Memories of the past

One of my favorite shots! This old man turned out to be sitting on this little town square every day, smoking his herbs and waiting for the odd tourist to come through and take his photo, then he would hold out his hand and demand a few coins (almost a professional!).

The alternative title for this picture would have been "Old man with a business idea"
