"Roads" - A Series

"Long way from home" (Taiwan, June 2011)

During my first visit to Taiwan, we traveled hitch hiking around the whole island. At one time
, having just left Alishan, we had to realize how remote and lonely the taiwanese mountains can be. Not one car for hours... and the first car that stopped had already had 6 people in it, so they kept driving... But lucky us - about 5 mins later the same car returned - apparently they felt bad for us - and we all squeezed together until we reached the next town. Long story short: Taiwanese hospitality is second to none - thank goodness! :)

"And another bend..." (Northern Vietnam, December 2011)

On our way through the remote and rugged Hinterland of Vietnam, I was lucky enough to capture this scene. If we would've had a bigger, more powerful motobike, the whole journey would have a been a great joy... But since we took on Vietnam's road with nothing more then a 125cc Honda scooter (which is perfect for the city, but almost useless on slopes and mountain roads), we had to battle our way along the lao' and chinese borders...
But "no pain no gain"! :)

"Moving" (Dalat/Vietnam, October 2011

Dalat is one of our all time favorite cities. Great food, great people, cool climate, beautiful scenery!

"Lonely Roads" (East Coast/Taiwan, June 2011)

If you ever wondered which Asian country you should go to for an unforgettable Motorbike trip...Here's my secret tip: Make it Taiwan! You won't regret it!

"Free Range" (Northern Vietnam, November 2011)

Another great shot from our Vietnam Scooter Tour... it always makes me happy to see kids roaming free in their backyard, with no worry on their mind.
